July 1, 2019
Oh my goodness. Where do I even begin? June 24, 2018 was the most amazing day that I’ve ever experienced. I finally got to marry the man of my dreams. I still remember being in middle school praying to God to find a man like Cameron. I now thank Him everyday for answering my prayers.
Because this is my first post about the wedding, I will not be sharing EVERYTHING. I have to save some for other posts to make it easier to find tips and tricks and all the other things that go into a wedding!
We got married on a Sunday, so leading up to the day we wanted to spend time with our friends and family. We were also living in Maryland at the time and getting married in Indiana, so we wanted to see everyone! Thursday night was our rehearsal and rehearsal dinner. This night is when it all started to feel very real that I was about to get married. Definitely had that “holy crap” moment when we were rehearsing for the ceremony. After the rehearsal we all went to dinner at a local brewery and it was just so much fun to spend time with everyone leading up to the big day. It was really helpful to just relax that night as my husband’s family planned the entire thing!
Friday night we went out to dinner then went to bars downtown to celebrate. That was also just a really fun and stress free night before the wedding. Highly recommend doing that! Get out on the dance floor and practice your dance moves!
Saturday was just tying up any loose ends. Finishing decorations, printing out ceremony cards, and other miscellaneous activities. Our parents were so much help at this point! I was not even sure what still needed to be done. I completely forgot about the seating chart! Luckily, Cam’s mom and Aunt put it together for us!! We had family member’s bagging up our macarons for our guest favors too! They could probably tell you so many more things they did that day too. Cam and I went out with some more of the wedding party and went to Top Golf! Then, I stayed with my maid of honor, Shelby, that night! Check out her blog post on Maid of Honor Duties!
Sunday, we woke up and had mimosas and had a little breakfast bar that Shelby and her mom put together for us. My bridesmaids came to Shelby’s house and we got our hair done there. We got to the venue a little after 11 and continued getting ready. Our photographer was amazing and got there early to take a bunch of pictures of us getting ready and detailed pictures of all of our decorations.
Cam and I opted for a first look. I knew the rest of the night was going to be pretty busy, and I wanted to soak up anytime with just Cam that I could. We had our first look then we had about an hour for pictures of just the two of us. This was perfect! We got so many good pictures all around the venue! Cam and I got some time to talk. I was feeling so overwhelmed while getting ready and seeing him before the ceremony really helped calm my nerves! On your wedding day, you just feel so many different emotions. You’re throwing a huge party with all of your closest friends and family. It’s a lot of pressure for everything to be perfect. Just know on your wedding day, things will go wrong. It’s ok. Most likely, no one will even notice. Just enjoy YOUR day.
The ceremony was perfect! We had it outside, it was warm but there was still shade I was concerned about it raining, but we had a back up plan. It was no big deal! I was completely planning to have it all outside even if it was raining unless it was like down pouring. lol I loved having our venue in the background when I walked down the aisle. It really made me feel like a princess with my castle behind me! Haha! It was just perfect! I loved seeing my friends and family in the audience while I was walking down the aisle too! After the ceremony we got locked out of the building from the downstairs where Cam and I were going to sneak back into! So, we ended up having a receiving line and everyone who came walked by and gave us a hug and congratulated us. We didn’t plan on that, but I was very pleased with how it turned out! Otherwise I don’t think we would have gotten to see everyone who showed up.
Our dinner was delicious and our reception was just so much fun! I loved getting to hang out with all of our closest friends and family! We were pleasantly surprised with how many people stayed until the end of the night with it being on a Sunday. We had a sparkler exit and it was just so much fun!
I wish we could do it all again! I know I said “It was perfect!” like a million times, but honestly it was! I would do it all again tomorrow if I could. We had a blast and most importantly WE’RE MARRIED!! Thank you SO SO much to everyone who came to the wedding and who prayed for us! HUGE shout out to everyone who helped make it happen, family, friends, and vendors!
